Gabriel Jose Bolaños Chamorro – Composer.
I’ve never liked the word “blog” – it sounds like an unpleasant byproduct of some obscure bodily function. This is simply a means to get some ideas down on paper, and to share some of my music with anyone brave enough to gander a listen.
I’m Nicaraguan, was born in Colombia and raised in the US, Mexico and Belgium. I like cured ham, modern art music and clitics. I’m a second-year graduate student in composition at UC Davis, currently studying with Mika Pelo. I received a BA in music and political science from Columbia University in 2007, where I studied composition and theory with Fabien Lévy, composition with Sebastian Currier and orchestration with Tristan Murail.
New music will be posted as it is completed, and musical resources are on the way.
I play a cocobolo and spruce Peter Tsiorba flamenco guitar and classical Zepeda Guitars – handmade custom instruments from Portland, Oregon and Masaya, Nicaragua, respectively.

Hello! I want to send you a guitar piece of mine to look at … perhaps “consider.” It’s pretty crazy …
